5 Clever Tricks For Boosting Motivation…

18/07/2017

Finding the motivation to work out is one of the hardest parts about losing weight. Most of us start out well but then a couple of weeks in, you break that routine and end up back where you started. If you want to effectively lose weight and keep it off, you need to find a way to motivate yourself. Setting clear goals and staying focused on what you want to achieve is important, but there are some great little tricks that you can use to help you along the way.

Get The Right Gear

If you put all of your workout clothes, you’ll feel pretty stupid if you change out of them again without doing any exercise. As soon as you’re dressed in the right stuff, you’ll be in the mood to workout. You should also make sure that you get good quality stuff like the latest selection from Adidas so it’s comfortable and feels good. You won’t be inclined to exercise if you’re wearing some old gym stuff that you’ve had for years.

Financial Incentive

Money is a great motivator, that’s why people use a swear jar to stop themselves from using bad language. You can use the same concept to help you workout. If you put £1 in a jar every time you get back from the gym, you’ll save up a lot of money over the course of a year and it’ll help you to stay motivated as well. At the end of a year, you’ll be in better shape and you’ll have a load of money put aside to spend on something for yourself.

What Will You Do Instead?

One of the biggest excuses that people use for missing a workout is that they just don’t have the time. Unless you spend every waking hour at work or looking after the family, that’s not true. Everybody can find an hour a quick workout so if you find yourself using that excuse, ask yourself what you’re going to do instead? Most of the time, the answer is going to be sitting at home watching TV. By thinking about the alternative, you’ll realise that you won’t be missing out on anything and you’ll feel a lot better about yourself after doing a workout.

Get A Workout Partner

When you skip out on a workout, you’re letting yourself down, but you can probably live with that. However, if you’ve got a regular workout partner, you’ll be letting them down as well. You’re far less likely to skip out on a workout if it means letting a friend down. Just make sure that you don’t pick somebody who is unmotivated, otherwise, you’ll end up convincing each other that you don’t need to workout.

Listen To Audio books

Music is great for motivation but audio books might be better. If you limit your listening to workout time only, you’ll have to do another workout if you want to find out what happens next. Make sure that you’re picking a good book though, otherwise, the incentive won’t be there.

Use these simple tricks and you’ll find it so much easier to stay motivated and reach your workout goals.
