5 Reasons Why You Should Hire A Personal Trainer in 2020 | LEP Fitness

If you’re being 100% honest with yourself, how successful have you been at achieving your health and fitness goals in 2019?

Did you even have any health and fitness-related goals for 2019?

If you said NO to either question, don’t despair, you’re not alone!

There are hundreds of thousands of people in the same boat!

Instead of dwelling and beating yourself up, set yourself some goals for 2020. One’s that excite you: that could be running a marathon, losing two stone, getting a six-pack, or running the Sheffield half marathon on the 29th March 2020!

Whatever it is, set yourself a goal (or two), write them down and then go and hire a personal trainer to help you achieve your goal(s).

When you write down your goal(s) and have an expert to hold you accountable, you are going to double your chances of succeeding!

Imagine this…

How good would it feel if in the next 3-12 months you achieved your health and fitness goal(s)…

  • Perhaps you’ve lost 2-3 stone and have treated yourself to a new wardrobe – how would that make you feel?
  • Or maybe you’ve run a marathon and raised £1,500 for charity
  • Perhaps, you’re doing more activities with your kids at the weekend, playing football with your son, or taking dancing classes with your daughter.

Whatever is important to you!

That would feel pretty amazing? Well, with the right goal and an expert working alongside you… pretty much anything is possible.

5 Reasons Why You Should Hire A Personal Trainer in 2020

5 Reasons Why You Should Hire A Personal Trainer in 2020

#1 Accountability

When you’re booking in to see your personal trainer 1-3x per week, you’re going to be more likely to turn up (otherwise, you may as well throw your money down the drain!).

Also, by paying for personal training sessions, and seeing your trainer each week, it’s going to mean that you’ll be more likely to train outside of your personal training sessions, working out in your own time.

A good personal trainer will set you homework to do each week, i.e. to go on two runs per week. They will also design you a custom meal plan and workout program for you to follow in your own time.

#2 Expertise

Have you studied human anatomy or exercise mechanics? I bet you’re thinking, “what are you talking about, Nick?!?” – The chances are that you’re not skilled in this. Otherwise, you wouldn’t need a personal trainer!

Instead of scrolling the internet and guessing what works and what doesn’t (there’s lots of rubbish online!), why not reach out and hire an expert to take away all the guesswork?

All you have to do is follow your personal trainer’s advice and put in the work! This will save you hours searching the internet and prevent lots of headaches – wondering whether what you’re doing is right or not!

Also, it will stop you from getting disappointed at your lack of results – because If you follow the advice of an expert… results are guaranteed!

#3 Goal Planning

Most of the time, people fail because they set themselves unrealistic goals, or feel overwhelmed with the challenge that lies ahead, rather than breaking it down into small, bite-sized steps.

A good personal trainer will be able to understand what you want to achieve and then be able to reverse engineer to where you are now, providing you with stepping stones as each phase of the journey. Then over time, you will eventually get to your end goal.

For example, let’s say you’re unfit and get out of breathe walking up a flight of stairs, BUT you want to run a marathon…

Would it be wise to go out and try and run 26 miles all in one go?

No, NOT unless you wanted to give yourself a heart attack!

Instead, you’d be better off beginning with light activity – such as walking, to build up your cardio. Then after a couple of weeks, you could increase the distance you walk, then eventually you could start running for 1-2 mins, and slowly build up – something like the couch to 5k plan is a great place to start.

Basically, rather than going all out and feeling overwhelmed, hire a personal trainer to help you breakdown your goals and then support you each step of the way.

#4 Psychology

Now, this is KEY (absolutely essential!) most personal trainers fail to get results with clients not because they aren’t skilled in teaching exercise mechanics – most are!

However, where they fail is that they lack understanding with regards to human psychology. This is one of the BIGGEST parts of the transformation process, and without working on it, you either won’t get results, or your results will be short-lived, and you’ll revert back to old ways!

A good personal trainer will have spent thousands of hours working on their personal development, reading books on psychology and attending courses to improve the quality of their own life, so that they can help their clients to do the same!

Most people need to work on both the mind and body simultaneously, and a highly-skilled personal trainer will be able to help you with this.

#5 Extra Resources

Alongside your personal training sessions, your coach should be supplying you with a workout program (to follow outside of your sessions), a meal plan, and recipe books.

They should also be providing you with other resources such as books and podcast recommendations – and anything else that’s required to help you transform your mind and body.

Your personal trainer will know the best restaurants to eat healthy foods and have strategies for helping you achieve your goals.

So, what are you waiting for?

Go and hire a personal trainer in 2020!
