5 Ways To Make A Real Impact To Your Health & Fitness in 2018…
02/01/2018First of all HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope you’ve not eaten too much like me – i’m not going to lie I had 8 mince pies on Christmas day! and I wont tell you about the rest haha!
Wow! I can’t believe it’s 2018 already! It only feels like yesterday that it was the millennium! Crazzehh how fast time fly’sssss hey?
Now that we are in the New Year, i’m certain that many of you will be looking to start 2018 with a BANG, especially with regards to boosting your health & fitness.
In this short and straight to the point post i’m going to share with you 5 Ways That You Can Make A Real Impact To Your Health & Fitness In 2018…
#1 Set Your Goals & Intentions (Absolute Must!)
If all you do is set a weight loss goal or say… “I just want to get a bit fitter” it will only motivate you to go so far. Most people set uninspiring goals each year and that’s why they quit and never achieve results!
In December the gyms are like a ghost town, but then by January…
By February they start to die down again! 4 weeks for most people before they quit and revert back to old ways (don’t let this be you!)
The stronger you set your goals and intentions the more likely you are to achieve them. For example LEP member Hannah set herself the goal last year to run a marathon, now for somebody who was completely new to running that’s a HUMONGOUSLY DIFFICULT GOAL, but she committed to doing it, and also decided that she would raise money for charity…
She did it and also raised £1,800! High Five Hannah!
Or take Danny for example who wanted to look dapper in his suit for his wedding…
He lost a whopping 84 lbs…

#2 Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For Help…
Getting fit and healthy can feel difficult and certainly overwhelming at times. There’s literally so much information on the internet and a bunch of conflicting opinions – that leave the ordinary person feeling completely baffled, de-motivated and uninspired.
Don’t be afraid of reaching out for some help, for example you could ask for some help in the gym, or hire a personal trainer.
It’s something that i’ve done for the last few years, in fact in 2017 I invested £8,500 on business and lifestyle coaching because I felt I needed guidance to help get me out of a rut! read full story here
Although you don’t have to spend anywhere near this much it will be one of the best decisions you make!
When looking for a personal training i’d recommend…
1) Doing your research – ask people at the gym who they recommend or ask your friends if they know anybody. Look online, check out reviews, results, testimonials, website, etc – Then If you like the look of them book in for a consultation. Most coaches will offer a free consultation, so what have you got to lose?
2) Providing you feel confident after the consultation then book in for a bunch of sessions, give 100% effort and watch your transformation unfold.
#3 Take Small Baby Steps (and keep taking them!)
“Rome wasn’t built in a day” and all that jazz! Although it’s common sense it’s not often common practice and one of the things I see is people taking on too much all at once. Remeber it’s not ‘Stars in Your Eyes’ where you go into a dressing room and then…BOOM all of a sudden you’re a different person!
Instead change takes time. Make-sure that you take baby steps and continue to keep taking them over a longer period of time (at least 3-6 months). If you do this you will notice plenty of positive changes and most importantly you will be able to sustain them!
It’s much better to slowly neaten up your diet and start exercising 4x per week, than it is to go on a crash diet, train 7 days a week, like some madman (or woman!) but then give up 4 weeks later because you’re utterly exhausted and totally miserable!
#4 Keep Learning
One thing I commit to doing every single day is LEARNING. I spend at least 10 minutes per day reading (usually 30 minutes per day) to educate my mind and keep growing as a person.
I also spend some time meditating and doing visualisation exercises.
It’s totally transformed my life and I’d highly recommend everybody to spend at least 10-20 minutes per day learning something new.
Whether that’s reading a book, watching a documentary, or listening to an audiobook or podcast, make-sure to allocate time each day to work on YOUR PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT.

#5 Do What You Enjoy
There’s no point going to the gym if you absolutely hate it! There’s only so much will power can do… the bottom line is that if you don’t enjoy it… you will eventually give up.
Instead look to find activities that you enjoy, maybe you like walking, or running and could join a club, or perhaps you like playing sports like tennis or badminton.
Write down a list of all the activities you enjoy and then look for ways to incorporate them into your weekly routine. Here are some ideas:
- swimming
- cycling
- running
- walking
- skipping
- weight training
- skiing
- dance classes
- tennis
- basketball
- squash
- football
- cricket
- climbing
- rowing
- fitness classes
- zumba
- salsa

Nick 🙂
