Summer is now in full flow!
Oh Yes! Whether your looking to look good on the beach, be able to run around the park with your children on a hot summers day, or you just want to make some positive changes to your overall health and well-being… I have ‘3 Rapid Fire Tips’ to help you get kick started! I’m also going to be sharing a ‘healthy ice lolly recipe’ to quench your thirst on a hot summers day ;-), lets get stuck in…
1) Drink like a Camel! – Water will help keep you hydrated, allowing you to perform optimally at work, at home, and at the gym. Water will also encourage your skin to glow! Aim for a minimum of 2 litres per day, the more active you are the more you need. If your not a fan of plain water opt for the flavoured waters, or squash. Get them fluids in!
2) Fill up on Protein – Protein will help keep you fuller for longer (meaning you’ll eat less!) and your body burns calories by just trying to break it down (it’s called the ‘thermic effect‘ for all you science hungry knowledge folks!). Chicken, turkey, salmon, tuna, cod, steak, eggs, and mince are all foods super high in protein. If your a vegetarian: quorn, tofu, hemp seeds, almonds, chickpeas, peanut butter are all excellent choices.
3) Get Moving – Whether going to the gym, working out at home or just taking more walks – keep moving! Everything adds up, walk to work, take the stairs (instead of the lift!), go to the gym, workout at home, just get moving! The more you move the more calories you’ll burn, you’ll also boost fitness, feel better and sleep like a baby! Healthy Ice Lolly Recipe:
Try this icy bundle of AWESOMENESS!
- 2 cups Kiwi
- 2 Cups Mango
- 2 Cups Strawberry
Take individual fruits and blend with a little water to make a paste. Take your mould then simply layer each fruit on-top of each other and leave in a freezer for an hour. BOOOOM !!!
