Brighton Blues…

01/09/2015

Just got back from Brighton after a wonderful little break with the family.

What a city! if you love the sea side, love to shop and eat nice food then Brighton is the place to be. I can’t believe it’s been 8 years since I lived there during my drunken college days, time really does fly!

I’m also officially 27 years old now! cough cough old man! I was fortunate enough to be given a Go Pro for my BD (get ready for some cool videos on my YouTube channel). I also had a fab birthday meal at the Gourmet Burger Kitchen. I managed to polish of a double burger, large fries, banana milkshake + a few cheeky bevies in the evening (yes I was drunk of 3 pints – sucha light weight!). It was however great to kick back and relax from what’s usually a pretty hectic life back in Sheffield.

For me family time is so precious and scarce (our family is spread out all over the country!). I have the post holiday blues as I sit here writing this post looking forward to the next time we all catch up which will probably be Christmas (watch the christmas ads appearing in the next few weeks! lol).

I did 0 training the whole week and failed to track a single macro (oopsy!) it was a well needed rest for me after 16 + weeks of dieting and training like a Spartan warrior! Rest and recovery is one of the most underestimated areas. When you train hard regularly you need to ensure you recover, you can do this by eating well, managing stresses, taking a break from training or pulling back on volume (i’m going down to just 3 sessions per week for the next 4 weeks to help my body re-charge).

I also managed to listen to two London Real podcasts (Dana Penia). I would highly recommend them if your interested in self development and business. A part from that I did very little all week a part from chill, venture into town on a double decker bus, watched a fantastic film called Side Effects (with Jude Law and Catherine Zeta-Jones) and play croquet (I won! wohoo).

I’m also going to be sharing some video’s over the next few months, here’s the first 2 I did whilst in brighton. . .

If there’s anything you would like me to cover please leave your comments below or send me a PM.
