There are some things that people seem to live by when training. It might be the regime that they use, or the amount of times that they train, or even who they train with.
Basically, how you train has a massive impact on the results that you’re going to see. But the one thing that has long been debated, is can you train without supplementing?
In the last few years, supplements have become a big part of the training world. You’ll hear some experts out there saying that you can train to get big without adding in a few supplements. Then there are those that will swear by training and making gains naturally, without using some of the well known supplements.
All of these conflicting views can get confusing, so we’re here to settle the argument for good. We know that you can train without supplementing, but we want to talk about why you should always be training with it.
Training Without It
Training with supplements is something you just sort of pick up as you go along. There aren’t many people out there that train with them right from the beginning, other than those that are going to turn into hardcore bodybuilders.
So, in the beginning, we know you’re going to notice a difference without the use of supplements, but this is most likely going to be because your body isn’t used to the exercise it’s now doing. For example, if you’re starting out with the gym with the intention of being able to lose weight, but you were previously someone who did no exercise and indulged in the wrong foods, then a sudden change in this is going to result in dramatic changes.
So, what we’re trying to say is, you can make big changes just by focusing on the intensity of your workouts , and making sure that you stick to a clean diet. If you’re looking to build muscle rapidly, then you’re going to have to get your bulk on, especially if you’re doing this without supplements. The average man training to build muscle needs to consume around 4000-5000 calories a day of lean meats and veg, along with some fats. It’s a complicated process that you’ll have to do some more research around.
Why You Should Train With It
Now, this is the bit that we really want to talk about. Some people get so obsessed with the supplementing side of things, that they forget the diet should be the most important part.
Supplement does not meant substitute, and this is something that should always stay at the front of your mind. Once you’ve nailed the diet, you can then think about the things that you should be adding. The point of a supplement is to enhance the results that you’re already seeing from your efforts in the gym, and boy do a lot of them do that.
There are supplements that are guaranteed to give you more energy to start your workout, there are supplements that will aid your muscle recovery, and for men, there are supplements that should help to increase testosterone levels naturally, without the use of steroids.
How you train with them, and which ones you use, all depends on you and what your end goal is. There’s no point taking supplements that are specific to muscle growth if you’re trying to lose weight, so again, it’s important
A Popular Supplement
Again, this is goal dependant. The main one we want to talk about is weight loss supplements, as it can be a rather taboo subjects. However, as long as they’re used short term, they’re really effective! For example, orlistat reduces the fat your body absorbs, so there’s no reason why it’s going to damage your health in other areas. Orlistat is just one of the fat reduction techniques that people use alongside their efforts in the gym. The only thing you need to be wary of is your energy stores. Find other ways to increase your energy through low fat alternatives within the diet, that way you shouldn’t suffer from fatigue.
Don’t Overdo It
This is the final piece of the puzzle if you’re going to think about training and supplementing. The last thing that you want to do is overdo it, which is what a lot of people do. It would be wrong of you to rely so heavily on supplements, and it would be wrong of you to overtrain due to the benefits you feel the supplements are giving you. Focus on your diet being 80% food, followed by 20% supplements. Always work out no more than 5 times a week. Your body needs that vital rest period, especially if you’re going to be taking part in body building.
