IDENTIFY YOUR VALUES…

IDENTIFY YOUR VALUES...

One of the most valuable processes that you'll ever go through is identifying what truly matters to you. Media, other people's opinions and marketing, can infiltrate your brain. So much so, that you very often end up living following other people's values, and not your own.

The process of identifying your values will provide you with a reference point at every stage of your journey. When you question anything that you do, you can ask yourself if it's something that truly matters to you.

Linking daily tasks to anything that you value, is the quickest way to beat any level of low motivation or procrastination.

Write down three answers for each question (you should have 21 answers)...

What do you spend most of your time doing (on a day to day basis)?

What do you spend most of your money on?

What areas of your life do you have the most discipline and focus?

What occupies most of your thoughts throughout the day?

What subjects would you most enjoy talking about socially?

What are you inspired by the most (now or in the past)?

What subjects do you love to learn the most about?

Once you have written them all down, write down which answer appears the most throughout. Then write down the answer which appears second, and then the same for the third.

You'll begin to see some similarities amongst your answers. You'll start to see what you already value the most.

These are where you are going to be the most inspired and motivated in your life. These are what drive you to do what you do. These are what you can begin to link your daily actions to.

Be prepared to feel challenged, as your answers might not be what you expected.

Next steps, now you have your values aligned in front of you.

Many people go through life chasing something, but never feel fulfilled (have you ever found that?).

This simple exercise where you identify where you are the most inspired will allow you to link anything back to your values.

For example, let's say you value:

Family - how does transforming your health and fitness help your family? Well, by being fit and more confident you are happier, have more energy and are therefore more positive with your loved ones.

Career - how does being fit and looking good help your career? Well, by improving your body shape you will have more presence, and get respect from your colleagues and peers. You will be more confident in meetings, and have more focus to deal with challenges.

The above are just a couple of examples. What's important is that you find out what's most important to you and then link a certain habit, or behaviour i.e. exercise and how it's going to help you lead your best life.

This exercise has transformed my life so much, and I know it will do the same for you too.
