6.33am, Tuesday 25th August (1 day before my 27th Birthday!) and I just thought I’d post a quick update. In less than 12 hrs me, my mother and beautiful girlfriend will be on the road to Brighton, blasting out some James May and getting ready to celebrate mine and my grandmothers 80th Birthday! Definitely looking forward to some chilled out family time in one of the coolest most hippiest cities in the UK!

Plenty of exciting stuff coming up the next few months . . . the new website goes live, i’m half way through writing an awesome blog called 101 Fat Burning Tips (some of my top secrets revealed!) and i’m also going to buy a Go Pro, so get ready for some cool videos and let me know what you want to see by commenting on this blog or if you would prefer send me a message

For the large part of this year I have been following a ketogenic diet. For those of you that don’t know what ketogenic is . . . It basically means consuming foods which only contain proteins and fats. Foods like Chicken, turkey, salmon, mackeral, steak, mince, nuts, olive oil, butter, avocado, nut butter, etc. Each meal is also served with a generous portion (2 handfuls!) of fibrous green vegetables.

INSIGHT: Carbohydrates are the bodies preferred energy source so when your constantly supplying your body with these foods your body will break down carbs first before it even considers burning fat. By ditching carbohydrates and adding adequate amounts of fats and protein in replacement, the body will start to use fat for fuel instead of carbohydrate. If done properly you can shift body fat very efficiently.

Being a person that suffers with allergies my diet has to be on point otherwise I feel like dog cr*p! I also recently found out that i’m allergic to foods containing salicylates. I can only have a small amount of these foods each day otherwise my body melts down! Salicylates are found in grapes, raspberries, strawberries, broccoli, spinach, almonds, fruit juice, to name but a few. Who would have thought these foods could evoke reactions in my body that make me feel tired, cripple me with joint aches, migraines, and cause anxiety attacks!

For me the ketogenic diet has been the best health decision to date, my energy levels are fantastic, skin looks healthy, my mindset is sharp, i’m sleeping better, training harder, recovering quick, my joints feel mobile, to name but a few. I’ve also been using this method on clients for the past 8 months and it’s phenomenal.

Here’s an example of what I would eat on a typical day:

  • Breakfast:  steak or mince, cooked in organic butter with green vegetables
  • Lunch: Fish (salmon or mackerel), cooked in avocado oil with green veg
  • Dinner: Poultry (chicken or turkey), cooked in extra virgin olive oil with green veg
  • Snack: 40g nuts + 30g nut butter

Hope you enjoyed the post, if your looking to blitz body fat give the ketogenic diet a go and watch the fat fall off. Let me know how you get on I would love to hear from you.

I’ll leave you with this short 90s video, which highlights my workouts over the past year + shows off the results i’ve achieved through ketogenic dieting!
