No Holding Back…
So the other day I was talking with a client.
To put you in the loop this member has lost an impressive 21lbs.
Recently however progress has grinded to a halt. It was time to have a chat…
I wanted to get right to the bottom of this….
Revelation 1💡💡💡: The habits that had lost him the weight in the first place were no longer in place – which would explain the plateau.
What was interesting is when we delved a little deeper…
Revelation 2 💡💡💡: ‘Self sabotaging thoughts’
“I can’t do it!”
“I’m not good enough!”
“I’m still that fat guy!”
As our conversation went on it looked as though a weight had been lifted from his shoulders…
All that was holding him back was the thoughts in his head. He told me how good this felt to get off his chest, something he’d never spoken about to anyone. He told me it was therapy.
He’d been ignoring these issues for years and feeling a sense of relief from our discussion made the decision to get back on track right in that moment – you could see it in his eyes.
Apart from the weight loss another one of our goals was to run a 5k (without stopping). The week before we did 3k and it was a struggle.
This evening however was different.
After our chat we set out on our run, feeling inspired (I was touched – beyond words). We ran and ran and ran…
35 minutes later and 5km further we did it!
