Personalise Your Fitness Plan: Key Factors to Consider…

No one should work out exactly like the next person. We’re all different, and we all have different needs and abilities, as well as various goals. If you want to plan a fitness routine or just a single workout, personalising it so that it suits you is a great idea. But what factors do you need to consider?

#1 Get Some Baseline Stats for a Starting Point

It’s useful to start with some key information about your body. You already know your age and gender, which are useful, but you should also check your height and weight. You might also want to try a couple of fitness tests to see how well you do.

#2 Decide on Your Goals

Your goals are going to make a difference to your fitness plan. If you want to lose weight or build muscle, or you just want to feel fitter, you can plan accordingly. Think about what you’re aiming for and how long you want to take.

#3 Be Realistic About Time and Ability

It’s always important to be realistic about what you’re able to achieve. Firstly, your ability is essential to take into account. You might want to run a marathon, but that might not happen if you’ve got dodgy knees. Another thing to be honest with yourself about is time. How often will you really work out?

#4 Know How Many Calories You Need

Don’t forget about diet. It plays an important part in keeping fit, and you need to make sure you’re getting the right nutrients. Understanding how many calories you need is a good start before you get to the nitty-gritty.
