Do you ever get to a point in the day, your week or even a period of your life where you just can’t put a finger on what is stopping you feeling your best or moving forward?

Our lives can be inhibited by unwanted things constantly, and sometimes we can grow accustomed to them, accept them or just do nothing about them. But yet, over time, we can go on to feel worse and in some cases, you can get to the stage where your lifestyle is being affected in a big way.

There are common reasons for this would you believe, and many of us can have something in common when it comes to being affected by any of the things mentioned below.

What all of these things have in common, is that they can all be dealt with, and over time you can feel that your life gets back on track. For some, there are quicker recovery rates than others, but the end goal is always the same. With that in mind, here are some of the common stumbling blocks we can all face and some tips and ideas on how best to deal with them. 

Let’s start with the common stumbling blocks

We all face times in our lives that we feel have us stopped in our tracks. It is one of the things that can have you feel upset, worried, and above all else, not moving forward positively. Here are some of the common stumbling blocks we can all face in our lives that can impact our lifestyle. 

Anxiety and/or depression

Many of us can struggle with anxiety and depression or, in some cases, both and they can be extremely debilitating on our lives. Anxiety can take over and cause you to feel sick, have an increased heart rate or suddenly start a negative thought process where you feel you can’t do something or achieve something. Depression can run alongside this and causes feelings of doubt and self-pity, or be an issue in its own entirety. Neither are to be snubbed. Mental health can affect anyone of us at any stage in our lives.

The truth is that you shouldn’t be dealing with it, and it is always advisable to seek medical help to ensure that you are given the right tools to combat them once and for all. That may be therapy or other methods, but you will be able to decide with method is right for you. 

Back pain

Whether it is obtained through an accident, an injury at work, or something that just seems to linger or has developed over time, back pain can be one of the biggest causes of grief to some of us, but yet many of us will deal with it rather than take action.

Of course, resting up can help or even seeing a chiropractor to ensure that no further damage has been done. In most cases, in time this sort of injury can heal, especially with the help of medical professionals. However, once it is resolved you won’t believe how you carried on with pain or inconvenience for so long. 

Feeling stressed or worried

Stress can be a huge zap of energy and positivity in your life. It can come in many different ways for all sorts of reasons. Perhaps money troubles, relationship issues or even worrying about other members of the family.

The best advice when it comes to stress is to ensure that you take hold of the situation that is causing you the worry in the first place. Often, ownership of the issue can be the best positive first step you can make. It may come in waves, or it may be a feeling that you feel more consistently, but no matter how small or big the impact, stress can materialise at any stage of your life for a number of different reasons. Making sure you understand the triggers can help you to make some positive changes that will have a big impact on your life moving forward. 

Your work

Maybe it is your job that is causing you to feel at a standstill right now. Not all of us are fortunate to be in a job role where we feel happy and secure in our career choice. Some people have just had to find a job in order to make ends meet, not really knowing what they were passionate about at the time. It happens. If you feel like your job is causing you to feel down and out, then a great tip would be to start thinking about the changes you can make. Do you know understand where your strengths are? Is there an industry or a particular job you would like to try? Could you go back to education and retrain to gain new qualifications? These things could help you to finally have a job that helps you to feel satisfied and fulfilled. 

Your relationship 

It could be your relationship that is holding you back, and that can often be a huge trigger for feeling stuck in your life. Nobody enters a relationship expecting it to fail, but sometimes people can fall out of love with one another, or simply grow and decide that they are not the same people they were when they first entered into the relationship. Often the hardest element is to decide to leave or to decide to work on it. Whichever you decide to do, it is a positive step in the right direction and can help you to feel more in control of the situation. 

What can help you battle through?

Knowing what is causing you to feel stuck in your life is one thing, and focusing on those difficult elements can help to improve your lifestyle and give you the positive impact you need to move forward. But are there are other things that you can do that could help to improve your lifestyle and help you to battle through the rough times? Here are some suggestions. 

Start exercising more regularly

Exercise is one of the leading ways you can combat symptoms of anxiety or get activity in your life. But it can be so difficult to start up a new habit and hobby such as being more active. People can often feel fear when it comes to their fitness levels, like even walking up the stairs can feel too much at times. But working through those first few sessions can open you up to a whole new way of life and have you feeling great. Exercise gives you the chance to clear your head and something else to focus on. Which can really help to guide you in other aspects of your life to help you move forward. 

Change your lifestyle 

Maybe your lifestyle needs a drastic change. Perhaps you have been considering taking more control over the things you eat, how much alcohol you drink, how often you smoke, for example. Sometimes a change in some of these areas can make a big difference to your energy levels, the amount of sleep you get and other more cosmetic things like the condition of your skin. Working on the inside out. This can help to give you more energy and to feel more at peace with yourself, which could then help you to tackle the other factors causing you to feel low. 

Try alternative remedies 

You may want to try different methods to help you feel better. There are so many different options that you could consider. It could be that you want to try essential oils, and use them around your home. Or perhaps you want to try different oils that you have heard about or natural remedies. Some people take solace in things like meditation or using crystals as a way to help with some of the symptoms of anxiety that can have you feeling. Perhaps you want an approach that can help calm you down and this is when things like CBD oil can be useful. There are many holistic therapies you can also try, as well as some of the standard counseling and talking therapies that are out there. Alongside prescribed medication. Sometimes trying these different things could highlight what might work for you. But the main thing is to come up with a solution that helps alleviate any bad symptoms you are feeling so that you can move forward with your life in a positive way. 

Focus on your mindset and thoughts 

Finally, you may want to take the time to focus on your mindset. Your mind is such a powerful tool and is often the main use when it comes to anxiety as you start to focus on your thoughts and how they make you feel. It may seem really difficult at first, but you need to start questioning the negative thoughts you have and try and come up with a positive resolve or solution to it. Developing new habits of positive thinking and changing your outlook on life. Thankfully, there is a lot of information online on how to get started with it.
