Six Fab Ways To Keep Fit!

Keeping fit is supposed to be something we all focus on. Often, life gets in the way, and so scheduled runs to the gym or exercise classes can be challenging to fit in.

When work is busy and time with the family is taking everything you have, you’re often left exhausted, and that scuppers your plans for fitness!

There are so many personal trainers out there who will tell you that you don’t need motivation to keep going with your fitness, but it’s not entirely true.

You have to be motivated to want to go to your workout class or gym session in the first place, and that often means finding something fun to do. For example, learning how to play Airsoft safely is a fun way to keep fit, and you would look forward to those sessions if they encompass fun with friends at the same time. So, let’s take a look at six fab ways you can keep fit and enjoy yourself when you do it.

#1 Join A Running Group

It’s far more fun to exercise if you know you’re not going it alone. You should consider joining a running group, and you don’t even have to pay for it! Get a bunch of friends together and meet at the park, then aim to beat a target of miles over time. You can work out, get fit, and laugh as you go!

You could also hire a running coach to help you with your running technique to increase your running speed, run more efficiently, and reduce injury.

Remember that running does wonders for your cardiovascular fitness, strengthens your legs, and will give your mental health a boost.

#2 Sign Up To A Gym

You can sign up to a commercial gym for less than £20 per month, although some gym memberships are £30+ (it depends on what you are looking for and the area where you live). Going to a gym means you have access to lots of different pieces of gym gear such as:

  • Cardio machines (rower, ski erg, stepper, treadmill, bike, battle ropes)
  • Weights machines (pec deck, chest press, shoulder press, lat pulldown)
  • Free weights (weights bench, dumbbells, and barbells)

If you join a private gym, you may also have access to a swimming pool and spa facilities.

#3 Hire A Personal Fitness Coach

Hire A Personal Fitness Coach

Rather than spending hours reading articles on the internet (many that will have inaccurate info or be trying to sell you a faddy weight loss pill!)…Why not reach out and hire a body transformation coach – somebody with thousands of hour’s worth of experience and all of the best qualifications?

You will get results in a fraction of the time, and it’s a fun way to reach your goals. For ten sessions, you would be looking at spending anything between £300-£1,000 depending on the personal trainer you choose.

#4 Join a Sports Team

Are you a fan of football? What about rugby? Taking the time to figure out a sport that you and your friends can play will make a big difference to your fitness.

Often, it doesn’t feel like you’re getting fit at all because you are actually having fun while you are moving. You can develop a real feel of camaraderie with your friends, and you will end up feeling constantly motivated because you feel good for it!

Here are some sports team ideas:

  • Rugby
  • Football
  • Cricket
  • Hockey
  • Ice Hockey
  • Basketball
  • Netball

#5 Play Active Games

Paint balling, wrestling, Total Wipeout – all of these are so much fun to do together as friends, and you get a workout with them before you even realise what’s happening.

The muscle aches you get after a physical game like that will make you feel like you’ve burned a ton of calories – because you have! It’s one of the best ways you can keep fit without even trying, and you can make it a regular enough occurrence that it slips seamlessly into the schedule.

As well as burning calories, playing games can be entertaining, fun, and you will create memories that last a lifetime!

#6 Get To The Beach

Have you ever considered surfing? One of the most fun ways to keep fit is in the water. The ocean offers a challenge that changes every time you ride it, and when the waves are coming, you have to think about staying balanced – and that’s a core workout in itself.

Being on the sand to run or exercise is another form of resistance, too. This can be an excellent workout for the butt and the legs, and you get to be at the beach at the same time! A workout has to be fun – and these are how you can make that happen.
